The Ultra Splice is a high performance, easy to install tunable and reusable mechanical splice. One splice accepts any combination of buffer sizes from 250um ~ 900um. Average loss is than 0.2dB with a fiber retention of over 2 lbs. The installation is simple: Cleave and insert the fibers, while checking fiber location in the glass capillary, secure by twisting a locking nut. Ultra Splice is available for singlemode and multimode splicing.
